The Return of the Observation Tower to the Summit of Javorník

Construction of a new lookout tower has begun on the summit of Javorník Hill, continuing the original legacy of this remarkable place. The new structure is being built directly beside the legendary Giant Barrel Inn, and its significance is even greater because it is being created from the original transmission tower, which is being transformed into a new architectural landmark featuring an internal staircase and an observation platform. This is not merely a new building. It is the return of the lookout tower to the place where it has historically belonged.

A site that waited decades for its new tower is now regaining its character, its story, and its symbol. The new lookout tower will not only offer breathtaking views. It will become a bridge between the past and the future, between the original Blaschka Tower and a new generation of visitors who will create their own memories at the summit. History Awakens Once Again

Some places carry a story so powerful that they deserve a new life.

For generations, the summit of Javorník near Liberec has been associated with panoramic views, hiking, and the unique atmosphere of a place people visited to admire the beauty of the landscape and experience unforgettable moments. It was here that the original Blaschka Tower once stood — an 18-meter-high wooden observation tower built by the Hodkovice section of the German Mountain Association DGJVJI.

For many years, it was the symbol of the summit and offered visitors a unique view of the Liberec region and the panorama of the Jizera Mountains.

Over time, however, the original structure disappeared, and the site remained without its landmark for many decades.
